Tree Management
We offer a fully qualified NPTC and LANTRA certified service. All work is carried out to BS3998 standards, and we hold £10 million worth of public liability insurance. We make every effort to minimise our impact on the planet in the course of our work and, whenever possible, we use biodegradable oils in our machinery and recycle all waste produced from our operations.
We carry out all regulatory procedures including tree preservation order and conservation area checks and complete all associated paperwork as part of our service.

Detailed below are the key operations that form part of good tree management.
Tree Felling
Tree Felling is the process of taking down trees in one go. We can also section fell. Trees must be felled safely and in the direction that you want them to fall, consideration of other trees and anything else that may be harmed, the lean and height of the tree, and the slope of the ground.
Tree Reductions
LMC UK Limited can perform reduction services for your tree to keep it healthy and looking great. Tree reductions also allow for natural light to be bought into a particular area. A reduction of the tree height and spread may be necessary to bring it back to its original shape and size.

Crown Reductions
This is the process of removing dead, dying, diseased, crowded, and weak branches from the tree. This involves pruning them back to good growth points further down the branch. This will reduce the overall size of the tree. Crown reduction is often more effective than removing the whole tree and results in a tidier shape.
Stump Removal
Stump removal is the process of removing the stump that is left after cutting and removing a large tree or shrub. Although the tree may be gone, stumps can still be an obstruction, and the trees can also re-grow. LMC UK Limited use stump-grinding as a fast and effective way of removing any remaining stump, ensuring the space is re-useable to either replant a new tree or reinstate plants, lawns, driveway etc.
Deadwood Removal
Dead or rotting wood within a tree can be detrimental to the trees general health. Removal of deadwood is completed as part of a Crown Reduction or Crown Thinning process. The process is completed to prevent any risk of issues with falling debris. Removal is therefore beneficial for the tree and ensures the safety of the surrounding area such as public places or gardens.
Crown Thinning
Crown Thinning is the removal of live branches to reduce the density of the tree’s crown. Thinning is one of the most common types of tree surgery. By doing this, wind can pass through more easily which will increase storm durability. This will also allow for more light to pass through the trees to make them more aesthetically appealing within the space they are located.
Storm Damage
The removal of storm-damaged branches or trees can often be very dangerous, as often the tree is unsafe and unstable. We ensure work is competently completed using appropriate climbing and lowering techniques by our qualified teams. If we determine the tree to be too dangerous, unsafe to be climbed or unstable to work on in a safe and controlled manner, it may require the use of a cherry picker or MEWP (mobile elevated work platform) to ensure full health and safety aspects are adhered to.
Tree Condition Survey
If you are concerned about the condition of trees that you are responsible for, then you require a tree condition survey for safety and management purposes. Our professional tree inspector will closely examine each tree to identify defects such as weak branch junctions, disease or decay and assess how the structural integrity of each tree is affected. Your tree report will explain our findings and include recommended works to reduce liability and risks to an acceptable level. Your tree report will also contain a detailed map, showing all tree locations.
Anyone who owns or manages land containing trees has a legal duty to ensure that they are in a safe condition so that foreseeable damage does not occur due to tree failure. (Occupiers Liability Act 1954/1980). Commercial premises have a further obligation under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to undertake regular tree surveys so that trees do not cause foreseeable damage. Guidance issued by the Government, the Forestry Commission and the Arboricultural Association advises that a tree survey is regularly undertaken by a professional tree inspector. Failure to do so may leave those responsible liable to prosecution.
